The Title Winning Season in Review: Charlton (A) August 23rd

In only the second game of the season, we again witnessed a match that that would mirror the whole campaign for both clubs. Three second half goals contributed to a comfortable United win — it might have been worse, the woodwork would come to Charlton’s aid three times also.

After a second straight win to start the season, Sir Alex would have a little peek into the crystal ball:

“It’s only two games played of course and you can’t talk about Leagues. But I think we have the will to do it and the players to do it and we have the spirit in the camp, without question. We’ll have a big chance this year.”

Not a bad little prediction it has to be said.
