Tevez Decides Success Isn’t His Thing

News just out of United today that Tevez is definitely leaving the club.
Apparently he thinks a five year deal that makes him one of the highest earners at the club simply isn’t good enough. Apparently the club agreed to pay the option price of £25M to Kia and co. but Tevez rejected the contract.
So Tevez has all but left United, he has ruled out Liverpool but wants to stay in England. So Chelsea it is then? Seems an inevitability really. He’d be foolish to go to City if he wants immediate success and Chelsea could be quite the worrying prospect under Ancho.
I don’t really care about this to be honest, because as I said with Ronaldo, it can only be a step down. The guy has claimed he loves the club etc. but I think he’s shown a lot of disrespect in the way he’s spoken about his future. Good luck to him at whatever club he goes to, and if it’s City I’ll laugh. Now the main thing is for Fergie to go and get some fucking footballers. There’s been a lot of speculation about or potential transfer activity but there’s been nothing yet.
C’mon Fergie, let’s get going.

I am very sad about this
I agree that he has been disrespectful towards the club but I think in part the management team have done it to him. Don’t you remember when he first signed for United he said he wanted to stay most of his career, only returning to Argentina when he was older. And he was a United fan as well, he got in trouble while playing for Corinthians for wearing a United shirt at a press conference. Although thinking about it I suppose that was pretty disrespectful to his then employers. But still, I think its a shame he’s been left so disillusioned in just two years with us. And this is not to mention his on-the-pitch impact. He’s going to take some replacing.Gutted

It will be quite hard replacing him, if only for his aura and attitude. But as you said, he has a history of having a tumultuous relationship with management and it’s continued. I’m quite cut-throat with these things, so I say good riddance to be honest.

get Arda Turan and Tawoa marseile Left attacking midfielder who can play as attacking midfielder. Tawao is Ghana hard tackler faster and like to hit ball from outside penalty area. Worth to see. His physical bigger than Tevez but faster. Ardan Turan from Turkey. quick using his feet and not afraid to move ball among the legs. We must forget Ronaldo and Tevez. well he tried to suck up one last time by ruling out liverpool, but keeping the city option on the table (to me anyway) nullifies that decision.
i think he ends up at city or otherwise he would have ruled out both pool AND city “due to the intense rivalry”

Disrespect on his part? What about the disrespect that was shown to him when he was benched after his good work? Or Ferguson looking for his replacement in the middle of the season. I am a Man U fan, but he was definitely mistreated and mishandled.
Of course he’d like to play with Manchester Utd. but maybe under a coach that doesn’t treat him like a piece of meat.

I believe it has more to do with the third party that basically owns Tevez. When say they Tevez turned down the contract they basically mean the people that own the rights to his contract. There is more to this than Tevez and money.

Tevez was mistreated by ManU. He played excellent during the season but often saw the bench to an less effective option (Berbatov). In addition, they decided to give this guy a contract at the last minute which simply means that they aren’t sure they want to kep him anyway. Thats total disrespect. I really can’t blame his attitude. What he needs to do is get id of Kia and company.

Ouch someones a little bitter, no? The fact still remains that fergs still offered him a huge contract,thus meaning he thought Tevez is a world class player and he still had alot to offer the club but Tevez did good, why accept an 11th hour offer from the club that snubbed you all season with players like Giggs, Scholes and Carrick and then buys another striker for 30 million who scores less goals then you with more playing time? United fans may whine and procrastinate that Tevez is easily replacable, until he scores against united for whatever team he will join.

I don’t see how much disrespect was actually shown vis-Ã -vis him being benched after good work. I’m pretty sure statistically he was more effective off the bench. I recall many game where Tevez started in which he worked and worked, but Had no shots on goal. I know the goal per minute were higher when he was on the field, but that’s because he came on to help change a game so often. In the end he’s not as valuable as he believes. He’s a great player, but not so great that he should be guaranteed a start at a club as big as United.

I want Tevez to stay just as much as everyone else, but the truth is that he made his bed by selling his right to MSI and now he must sleep in it.
If Tevez was owned by West Ham, Boca or any other club, this deal would have been done months ago. I don’t think Fergie wanted to had Joorabchin a wad of cash. Not to mention dabble in potential breaking of FIFA laws.
Conversely, if you pay a big fee to a club, it fosters a good business relationship and could lead to future transfers.
Joorabchin played hardball and won, we finally agreed on his somewhat over inflated valuation of 25 million and now thats not good enough.
Joorabchin preached about that fact that all United had to do was agree to the fee set forth in the origional loan contract and this would be done and dusted. Well, we did. Not Carlos doesn’t want to play for us.
No doubt he is a good player and I think he deserved more playing time this year and to be utilized differently, but you can’t disrespect the club by constantly going to the press and think you will win.
Wish it could have worked out for him and United.

Ditto to Rob. I’m not sure how ManUtd fans can be angry at Tevez, first of all, the preference for Berbatov over him was baffling, and then treated him as a last-ditch option. Had Ronaldo stayed, they wouldn’t have been interested in Tevez. Reminds me a bit of Real fans being mad at Robinho, well, when your club tells the player to blow off, your anger is misdirected.

This saddens me as well, Carlitos was always a favourite of mine and I am sad to see him go. It seemed to me that this past season Fergie wanted to play him somewhat similar to Solskjaer, coming on in the second half with fresh legs, running around making defenders tired and scoring goals. I quite liked him in that role, but obvsiouly he wanted a much bigger role in the team.

Honestly cant blame him one bit for leaving. He was never fully appreciated at MU. The man is one of the most technically gifted forwards around and an incredibly hard worker… What more can you want

If he would not have sold his economic rights to a third party, he most likely wouldn’t be in this situation in the first place.
Regardless of the skill and desire of the player, you have to respect the decisions of the coaches. Blabbing to the press is no way to get back into the first team. Sure he worked his butt off for us, but in the end he disrespected the club and Fergie. Fergie consistently stated he wanted to keep Tevez at OT and in the end backed it up by agreeing to the fee and a pay raise for Tevez.
Have any of these quotes actually been from Tevez? Nope, just Joorabchin. Hard to know what Tevez actually thinks when he doesn’t have the final say in the process.

A big loss to the team I feel and it certainly puts the pressure on Sir Alex to pull out a big name or two especially with Ronaldo going but with so many names being put about at the moment I don’t have a clue who we will get!

The guy was benched half the time. He never got the respect he deserved from SAF.
United offered him nothing as the season wound down and now, only after they lost the firepower that Ronaldo’s presence offered, as they appear less and less threatening going into next season do they offer him a contract.
Only one side of this is to blame. The guy played stellar for you spoiled bastards and you blew it.

He was never fully appreciated or respected as a footballer sitting through matches and watching some korean or berbatov messing up. Carlitos will always play with all his heart for his team whether is Corinthians, Man U, or whoever, but he wants to play not sit around wasting his time. It is also true what someone else said about selling his soul to joorbachian. I wish he could come back to Boca where he belongs, we just can’t afford him.
