Size Matters?

One of the most pressing questions for United fans, seemingly magnified by Sunday’s match, has been the quality and depth of our squad, compared to Chelsea’s. There’s little doubt (is there?), that our ideal eleven has ably managed to compete with the eleven from Stamford Bridge. But for how long?
Truth is - we are a little thin on the sub’s bench - whereas Chelsea can afford to leave a 21 million pound player at home! This being a direct result of their limitless spending power. Right now, I see this as the most tangible difference between Chelsea, and any other global football club. Many people consider this unjust, but Blue’s fans likely don’t care.
But, will the quality of Chelsea’s players prove a hindrance, rather than a help? Wayne Rooney certainly has a belief. I’m not so sure myself. If you can keep all the players happy - a large squad has to be an advantage. Mind you, being paid able to pay handsome wages to fringe players, probably helps enormously.
