The Title Winning Season in Review: Newcastle (H) October 1st

After a defeat and a draw, United returned to winning ways with a comfortable win over Newcastle. Ole Gunnar Solskjær would leave his injury curse in the past, claiming a brace for his first Premiership goals at Old Trafford in three long years.

But this game was another triumph for Ronaldo, who was now firmly displaying the form which would lead to double player of the year honours. Admired Sir Alex:

“He’s been like that since the start of the season. Nothing fazes him, he’s got great courage. There seems to have been a big change in him. It’s difficult to say whether what happened in the summer was a defining moment, but I always said I could only see greatness ahead for him”.

It would only get better…
