The Lighter Side of Life
By: Taylor Rockwell | June 5th, 2009This week has been nothing but rumor after rumor… and none of them were particularly happy for the Red Devils. “Reports” linking Vidic, Scholes, Slave, and Tevez away from Old Trafford were all over the place. Compounding the issue was/is the fact that there doesn’t appear to be a whole lot of activity in the United front office as yet. So, I figured we could take a break from this stressful period to reflect, once again, on why we are better than Liverpool.
Everyone likes to mock Liverpool for being run by owners so inept, they make AIG look efficient. Yet,the seeds of the club’s demise were laid way back in 1988. For that, apparently, is the year that rap came to Liverpool. My mate sent me this video this morning, reminding me that I had been meaning to post it months ago. Obviously, it’s from a while back… more than 21 years in fact. Nevertheless, if you’ve ever wanted documented evidence of why Liverpool are Shambles FC, here it is.
Highlights:
:50 – The goalkeeper who was clearly the inspiration for at least three of Sacha Baron Cohen’s characters (Borat, Bruno, and the monkey king thing in Madagascar). Not only was Bruce Grobbelaar an excellent goalkeeper he was also a brilliant… erm… match fixer…
1:42 – John Barnes attempting to rhyme “John Barnes” and “bananas”…
2:39 – Current New England Revolution coach Stevie Nichol being a rapping Scotsman…
2:53 – The most awkward high five ever captured on film… ever…
Enjoy… and don’t say I never gave you anything!

I seriously can’t stop watching it… I know I’ve gotta be missing some gems in here…

On my 3000th viewing, these were located:
:39 – Gotta love the failed headspin to start this sucker off right..
1:21 – Nicol pulls out the old “looking into the sky for no apparent reason” dance
1:38 – Craig Johnston laughingly accepts his own mediocrity and irrelevance… and love of fancy shoes…
1:57 – The trophy breaks
3:10 – The apparent gang initiation at 3:11 when Grobbelaar gets kicked in the spine
MVP: Most would give it to McMahon or Aldridge, but it’s gotta be Nicol. Solid dancing, good enthusiasm, and his Maccer-can Face at 2:09 could intimidate a male lion… for real…
Honorable Mention: McMahon, who functions rather well despite (in my opinion) being incredibly high throughout the entirety of the video… watch him be about half a beat late every time… outstanding…

The lesson I’m taking from this is: You can’t fake graffiti.

Are you joking? That is the most badass thing I have ever seen. You are trying to incriminate LFC with this masterpiece. The Fresh Prince would get on his knees at the sight of such mind blowing talent.
But more importantly, you have the audacity to link ANYTHING from YouTube to your man U blog when Ronaldo’s got THIS shocker floating around on that server???…….http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBZr40wSUx4
There is questionable, There is downright flamboyant, There is tummy rubbing pink flower toting “white budgie smuggling”, and then there is that clip.
I mean seriously. I almost feel sorry for you guys with that hot dog rocking your beloved patch all over pitch. but then I remember that I hate that F-ing patch.

YNWA, that’s the funniest, most unsettling thing I’ve seen in quite a while… but then I watched the Anfield rap again and immediately felt better…
