The Chelsea Match — My Two Cents
By: Nick | September 24th, 2007
Well, it was a fairly decent performance overshadowed by the referee. Chelsea have good reason to be miffed by the sending off — but we were the better side at the end of the day. Saha fell down as if he’d been hit by a sniper’s bullet. End of game. We move on, second in the table, still having not played particularly well. But, I’m feeling fairly encouraged that we are getting closer to this however.

I agree with you. We haven’t played all that well, and the ref did make some sketchy calls–but we won. And we needed it. I think Chelsea was understandably a little shaken…

if we can be in second playing poorly, wait until we start playing fantastic again

I think Chelsea were lucky to be honest. Cech played well, saving Rooney’s early shot and Vidic’s powerful header. It could have been over before half time.
Also, the whole game balanced out in the end. We could have had a penalty when Cole tackled Evra and also Cole should have had a red card for fouling Ronaldo.

Good points about the Cole challenge on Evra and the foul on Ronaldo Drabik… Chelsea fans shouldn’t moan too much — remember the ‘penalty’ they were awarded against Liverpool just a few weeks ago?
