Some Want United to Spread the Wealth

Let’s face it - the Premiership is rather boring. The big clubs simply secure so much of the wealth, that the competitive balance has been completely tipped in their favour. Man Utd were likely the guiltiest of all (until a certain Russian came along).

But, not all United fans like their own club’s greed. This group are pushing a novel concept to return to some of the ways of old - which meant a league season wasn’t always a four, three or even one horse race. It’s a novel idea, that I fear may fall on deaf ears. As a United fan I can’t deny that I didn’t enjoy our 90’s dominance. But I understand why fans of “smaller” clubs find the dominance of the rich clubs so nauseating. Just witness that amount of empty seats at Premiership games this season.
