Ruud to Real - Any Regrets?
By: Nick | November 16th, 2006
Enough time has passed (and not because of this), that United fans can begin to evaluate Fergie’s decision to show Ruud van Nistelrooy the exit.
At first, like many other fans, I questioned the logic in selling the club’s top scorer - despite the large personal rift that had clearly developed between manager and player.
However, after a blistering Premiership start - and 27 goals scored - the blow of Ruud’s departure has been softened slightly. But, if we were in Liverpool’s postion right now, there’s no doubt that we’d all be up in arms, at losing a player who’s fitting in quite nicely in Madrid.
This is a debate that will likely last all season. As long as Louis Saha stays fit, we might grow to forget Ruud. More so when another striker comes to the club. So far, so good then…

I think that this trade was one of those that you can say that both parties are happy with the results, Man united is a better “team” this year without the tension that Ruud and Fergie’s , and Real won a great striker and as we can see he fits perfectly to Madrids team
