Ronaldo is Sick and Tired of the Bullying
By: Nick | March 10th, 2008Old Trafford is not a happy place today and with good reason.
There’s little doubt to me that the physical intimidation of Ronaldo has reached preposterous levels and he’s rightly worried about it.
At some point we’ll need to begin worrying about him finally having enough and wishing to play in a country where skilled footballers are valued (what a concept!) and not moronically booed when they have the ball.
Would we blame him if he did?

Oh, come on. This is nothing but gamesmanship by Ronaldo and Fergie.
The incident they’re complaining about was probably a penalty–close, though, as it was shoulder to shoulder–but it wasn’t particularly violent. Worst tackle in the game belonged to Rooney.

He should stop whinging. We’re not Arsenal. He plies his trade in England and everybody knows what the league is like.
Move on. Win the next game.

people don’t seem to be looking at the long term with the kind of tactics most defenders are using on him. how many hard tackles does he need to take before getting seriously injured. and I don’t mean like Eduardo I mean ligament damage. the wear and tear of repeated abuse it’s basically worse than a one time bad break. he needs protection but as the footballing fans started to call him a diver early on and he did go to ground repeatedly back then the Refs tend to not take it seriously now. which is only bad for him and Us as ManUtd fans. because that’s our player they are trying to take out of the game. I think they need to start seeing the fouls and not give the defenders so much slack when it comes to Cristiano. unless they want a good player taken out of the game permanently. which might happen if they keep going after him this way.

trust me ronaldo has been attacked pretty tamely compared to what he might receive in italy. In england alot of the tackles are upper body tackles, the hurt but generally not too much lasting damage. In italy they go straight for the ankles, look at van basten. The reason ronaldo should be scared is because he is fast, a fast run, a tackle that might even only touch the ball but if he trips over it and lands wrongly their goes his ankle for a good 5 months and it probably wont ever be the same again.
