Pompey Will Try to ‘Play Up’ Against United

By: Nick | April 6th, 2007

portsmouth-fc.gif The atmosphere at Fratton Park will be intense for much healthier reasons than it was in Rome. Portsmouth have arguably some of the most passionate and fun loving fans in English football — which means it’s never an easy place to visit. Especially when you need all three points.

To say I’m worried about this fixture would be an understatement. Thanks to Chelsea 03’s last gasp winner at Watford last week, we still don’t have too much breathing room.

Coupled with Portsmouth’s fine home form - this is a serious potential banana skin. Heart thinks 1-2. Head says 1-1.

Fratton Park is a pretty intense place to be, at least it was the only time I ever attended a match there. But United has the best away form in the EPL. It’s certainly better than Portsmouth’s home form.
