Kids Likely to be in the Picture for the Carling Cup
By: Nick | September 25th, 2007
United begin their participation in English football’s fourth most important competition tomorrow with the third round Carling Cup tie against Coventry City at Old Trafford. What can we expect?
*A begging Wayne Rooney should make an appearance…
*It’ll likely be a mostly youthful squad however…
*The Coventry players are urged to enjoy the occasion…
The biggest thing we can hope for (other than a win of course) is that the whole squad emerge free of injury. Perhaps this could even be considered as important as winning the match.
There’s little doubt that clubs with Premier League and Champions League ambitions see the Carling Cup as an annoyance rather than a true challenge. I for one, don’t care if we go out tomorrow.

I take it you consider the Championship #3 and the Carling Cup #4? Just wondering.
