Hello world!

Few other clubs divide opinion as much as the Red Devils. Pioneers of the rampant commercialism that arrived after the formation of the Premier League in 1992? Symbol of all that is wrong with modern football? Both perhaps? Every football fan seems to have on opinion… For me, despite the hollowness of the commercial exploits of recent times, there is still a team that can sully a day if they lose and brighten a day when they win. It was the same at school in the 80’s surrounded by Liverpool fans as it is today.
Why do I support United? My father. Like countless other fans – club loyalty is often chosen for you before you have a choice! I remember being at my uncle’s house in 1977 as the adults cheered on United to an FA Cup win over Liverpool. I also remember the same group in despair as Arsenal took the 1979 final in classic fashion. From then on I was hooked.
A big thank you to The Offside for giving me the opportunity to share my thoughts and opinions on all things Manchester United. There are many issues that concern me about the future of the club both on and off the field. Obviously there will never be a shortage of issues to cover. I hope I can do them justice. Welcome!
