By: Nick | May 27th, 2008

After being plucked from Barcelona’s youth system, we were led to believe that he was the future in central defence — just not in our defense it turned out.

The kid looked good whenever he featured but I can see why he wants playing time and it would be some time before he could break up the Rio & Vidic pairing

And he has a £40 million release clause in his barca contract now, showing how much the spaniards rate him

I think it was really bad that Sir Alex never really gave him a chance to shine at the top level…one bad game at Bolton does not mean he needs to go…maybe Ferguson saw something in him we do not from the outside..but this kid had the potential and the built to be big one day… I am pretty sure had he been an English kid the media would have gone gaga over him…oh well..he’s going to a massive signing for Barca (I hope)..

He’s a bit error-prone, but he has great potential. Hopefully he’ll do great for us at Barca. At least we didn’t go about the transfer like Madrid would’ve.
