Did the Draw Produce a Winner?

By: Nick | November 27th, 2006

uc2.jpg Now that the dust has settled on yesterday’s reasonably decent match - fans, pundits, and even the manager’s are doing their best to figure out who “won”.

Suprise, suprise - Jose has an opinion on the matter. But inevitably, so does Sir Alex. There’s certainly no shortage of opinion from Manchester to London.

My own humble view is that Chelsea will likely have gone home happier - simply because they were the away team. There wasn’t a great deal between the two on the field, but one single matter concerns me - and that is the strength of both squads. Whereas Chelsea had the luxury of Robben and Joe Cole to come off the bench - United could turn to the slightly less glamorous Fletcher and O’Shea. Let’s face it, we are two or three major injuries from a crisis. Especially in the forward line. Ferguson will hopefully spend in January, to bring in some cover - I just hope that with so many matches until then, we can avoid the injury bug.
