Alan Smith - We Hardy Knew ‘Ye…

By: Nick | November 10th, 2006

smith2.jpg Poor Alan Smith. Unable to become a first team regular even before his horrendous broken leg last season - he now may have to wear the Leeds shirt again - in order to return to full fitness, and battle for a place at United. Or perhaps at the somewhat less rubbish club Cardiff City.

I feel for Smithy. He’s a likeable player who hasn’t quite cut it at Old Trafford. But you can never question his commitment. I’d be personally suprised to see him welcomed back at Leeds from their faithful - most weren’t exactly over-the-moon when he signed for hated cross-pennine rivals United. I’m sure such a “betrayal” still lingers…
