Was John Terry Spitting Mad at Carlos Tevez?
By: Nick | May 22nd, 2008Admittedly, I felt extremely sorry for John Terry after his miss. He seemed genuinely gutted. But then my opinion changed slightly after reading about an apparent spitting incident.
To me, the video is rather inconclusive though.

I’m not convinced. I think Tevez wipes because its pissing it down. Terry’s just said something nasty to him I imagine.

Blind as a bat. Especially when it comes to offside decisions and such.

Whatever he was wiping on his sleeve, Terry had a whole football pitch to do so and still needed to go out of his way so that he could have his arm resting in Tevez’ neck at the time instead? Even if he wasn’t spitting (and it looked like he was to me) it was clearly both disgusting and intentional.

It’s obvious to me that JT is calling Tevez a f***ing argie c**t which in itself is despicable but then he seems to blow something out of his nose/mouth in tevez’s direction. He wasn’t hiding his words from the referee - he doesn’t care that much please. Drogba, I think, is too far away to be the culprit. And why would tevez wipe his neck? It had been raining all evening yet he felt no need to wipe his neck the rest of the time. And this incident spitting or no spitting shows the lack of discipline in the Chelsea team, yes the man utd players shouldn’t have reacted as well, but it was Chelsea players who surrounded Tevez after he had put the ball out of play - which they had done twice already, and it was Drogba who hit Vidic. It was unlucky they lost but I don’t feel sorry for them now as I think they deserved to lose!!

Yes, of course he spat or snotted him. His petulence is as bad as Drogbas. Between them they cost their team the ultimate prize in club football. Poetic justice - what a pair of twats - Terry crying like a girl shows his true colours!

When you look at it frame by frame, he does look like projecting something towards Tevez. Whether that was spit/snot or not, it was still disgraceful the way he tried to bully Tevez there. I personally think he’s saying something vulgar to Tevez to provoke a reaction. Something along the lines of- “you f***ing Argie c***”. This clown should definitely not be the England captain.
Also, why the hell are people trying to sympathise with Terry? Did people do it for Beckham or any of the past great players who missed penalties that cost their teams big important games? Anyone could have slipped and his miss did not cost Chelsea the victory as 4 more penalties were taken before the game was decided. But Terry started crying like a baby before that and continued on. He got what he deserved and his behaviour should not be overlooked by feeling pity for him.

Agree with Mike — well spotted lad — it’s definitely the whistle that hits Tevez in the neck.
