Sir Alex: English Opponents Hold No Fear
By: Nick | March 5th, 2008Of course by English opponents, he means English with squads of largely non-English players — but let’s not be too pedantic.
I’m not sure I share his bold assertion however [neither does Ronaldo]. It’s unlikely the travelling United faithful do either.
I’m also highly skeptical of Fergie’s current Rafa Benitez-like rotation policy — obviously it worked nicely against Fulham and somewhat nicely against Lyon, but the potential for disaster is always just one match away.
Speaking of disaster — am I the only one somewhat shocked by the current faith Darren Fletcher is earning?

I think comparing our “rotation policy” to Rafa’s is unfair.
It’s only really the midfield that Fergie is fucking with.
To his credit Ferguson always starts the same back 4, Van Der Sar Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez more often than not. So he’s playing our big players. It’s just the midfield that has been changing quite a bi recently, to great affect too.
If he left Rooney out of a clash with Liverpool or benched Ronnie against Arsenal I’d start to worry!

Not as dramatic as our Scouse friends of course, but I think it still contains an element of risk…
