Rio Ferdinand’s Future is a Topic of Discussion Once Again

By: Nick | February 28th, 2008

Despite some shaky games of late, you could argue that Ferdinand has been one of the most consistent performers for United this season — and despite his seemingly major role in the Christmas party public relations disaster — his latest contract negotiations look set to begin soon.

In all honesty, if they go badly and Rio departs — I’m not sure it would be the end of the World.

Concerned about his transfer because he’s always maintained he wants to play in Spain before retiring.

Give him what he wants. He’s worth it.

If we don’t, he’ll go abroad.

How about we sell him to Real Madrid before he buggers off at the end of his contract like we do with all our other shite?

are you mad? rio is an absolute class act, if he was non-english he would probably be considered one of the world’s best defenders. a brilliant defender, arguably united’s most consistent player this season.

There’s no doubting his consistency this campaign but if he and his agent start fannying about regarding any contract demands - I woudn’t lose any sleep if he played elsewhere.

Of course that’s just my opinion…

Lets be realistic here… Ferdinand is not going anywhere, after us Man Utd fans waited so long for him to come back after his drug crap he owes it to us to continue to play the good football that he has been this season… i would be surprised and disappointed to see such a world class player leave Man Utd and i think Sir Alex would (should) rather spend his money on a new striker because we need someone who will grind out goals in those difficult games.
    COME ON U REDZ!!!!!!!!!
