Nani apologises for his ridiculous decision to fall down after his ridiculous headbutt of Lucas Neill
By: Nick | May 6th, 2008In a move slightly smarter than we witnessed on Saturday, Nani has shown remorse for his loss of the plot, but I’m not too sure I buy his assertion that he was provoked and attacked.
Unless you consider merely being Lucas Neill as provocation enough for violence.

“but I’m not too sure I buy his assertion that he was “provoked and attacked”.”
I’m of the opinion that he was provoked for sure, and swallowed the bait whole.
As stupid as Nani was, Neil’s verbal and a cuff upside the head is definitely provocation. What Nani did next was just disgraceful, but Neill deserved some punishment for his actions as well.
Oh, I don’t want to be a grammar Nazi, but since this is a blog that always tries for real professionalism…. punctuation always goes inside the close quotes.

Punctuation actually doesn’t always go inside the closed quotes. Proper usage generally depends on where you were taught. See link: http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-pun1.htm
